I was searching for something inspiring to post today since I didn't think you wanted to just hear me whine about, well what ever I might whine about. I did some searches, nope nothing. Then I read my email, and Bam, there it is!
I must first of all confess I am a total, complete animal lover. It breaks my heart to see animals suffer, I can't watch movies where animals are hurt, even though I tell myself it's not real! Ol Yeller, lets not even go there!
So, naturally, I help out animals where I can. I have taken strays home, in one case after some investigative work Sherlock Holmes would have been proud of. I have picked up dogs on the freeway. I support animal shelters and rescue groups. I feed three spoiled dogs twice a day. LOL
FINALLY I am to my point! Best Friends Animal Shelter did a survey and found that 89 percent of Americans feel we have a moral obligation to help animals, and 96 percent felt an animal should never be hurt. Still millions of homeless animals are put to death every year. What Best Friends Animal Shelter has done is set up an Animal Kindness Meter. They are setting up a friendly challenge for us all to do something nice for animals and then post it on their site. They have a meter showing how many things have been done and posted.

If you are at a loss as to what to do, they have ideas and there are messages from people telling what they have done. Here is the link again.
Click here: Best Friends Day: Acts of Kindness Though the official date of the contest is over, they have the meter still open and available for posting. It's never to late to help out!
If you do something, will you also post it here? I would love to know about it!
P.S. In case you don't know, RAK stands for Random Act of Kindness.
